Hello Everyone!

I am going to begin with a sincere apology to you, my readers. I have been major behind on all my duties with Beauty by Design Ministries and Mom-Daughter Connection Radio show. But, lucky for me, I have a good excuse, or two. The last edition of this ezine went out the Monday before Thanksgiving, this was the last time I remember thinking clearly, and even then not completely clear. Every since the last week or so in October when my kids both came down with sinus infections and inner ear issues I have been behind. Soon after I came down with the same thing, and surprisingly enough I still have a sinus infection, but there is more.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, my husband and I got some unexpected news. We discovered I am expecting child #3. Yes ma’am. I am pregnant, again! My baby, Lily is only 8 months old, she’ll be 9 months on Dec. 16. The new baby is 8 weeks along and I am due on July 13, 2008. We are happy though it was an unexpected surprise that we had definitely not planned for.

What about you? Did you have a great Thanksgiving? We had more to be thankful for than we thought during ours. Honestly, I have a lot to be thankful for as I got pregnant or was considered higher risk because I had an IUD though apparently it had been lost. This is why I got pregnant, however if they had found that I had indeed gotten pregnant with it still in place there could have been many complications, therefore I am glad it was missing. That is my thanksgiving praise.

I also know that God has a plan. This week I finally also completed another Mom-Daughter Connection Radio Show. It will be up for your listening pleasure today. It is entitled, “Being Set Apart for God”. God does set up apart for his purposes if we choose to follow his lead. I encourage you and your daughter to listen in on this as you learn more about Queen Esther and how she was set apart for God and how you can encourage your daughter to be set apart as well.
Also, I haven’t forgotten the Prayer Journaling Ecourse and plan to launch this in the New Year; maybe you can make it your New Year’s Resolution to begin prayer journaling. I am so blessed! This week, I was flooded with God’s blessings. I hope that you too can look back on the previous week and be able to say, “I am so blessed.” One of my most exciting happenings of this past week was meeting Cindy Rushton of Rushton Family Ministries. As Cindy said, “we are kindred spirits.” I truly believe this and I believe this meeting was a “divine connection” that God pre-planned for both of us. I am excited about the opportunities that working with Cindy will bring to me. First, I will be joining Cindy, tomorrow, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 for her Talk-A-Latte Chat Please join us at 1pm CST or you may visit the archives there on the website after the show! Details are below. We will be discussing Quiet Times for our children. Time alone with God is so important for our children and us. You won’t want to miss this! I will post more details below.

Another blessing is that today I will be speaking locally at the Memorial Day Sing for Promised Quartet. Promised is a Southern Gospel quartet of which one of my good friends Melanie Woods is a part. You can visit Promised website at http://www.promisedqt.com . They have a CD being released TODAY! I’m sure you can find the details on their website! Anyway, I will be speaking about my ministry at their Annual Memorial Day sing held in Coila, MS at Coila Baptist Church. Therefore, if you’re in the area come on out from 10am-4pm. BBQ lunch will be sold on the grounds! Admission is FREE!

Some Keys to Quiet Time

Quiet time or time alone with God is so important to all of us. I believe that it is how we as Christians grow in Christ. Becoming a Christian should be more to us than just “fire insurance” or a way to stay out of hell. I think it is important to emphasize to our children that being a Christian involves more than just accepting Jesus. It is about forming and growing a “relationship” with God. As a youth/children’s minister, I used this example many times. If you have any relationship, whether it is with a friend, a parent, a boyfriend/girlfriend, how do you get to know that person, through spending time with them right? And if you don’t spend time with them you cannot “get to know them”. The same goes with our relationship with God. We must spend time with Him in order to get to know Him, and there is no way that we will get to know Him if we do not spend time with Him. It is that simple. That is why our quiet time is so important.

The Christian life is a growth process, in order to grow we must spend time reading God’s word, talking to God, listening to God, memorizing Scripture, applying Scripture to our lives, all of these things we can do during our quiet time with God each day. There are some several “keys” to having a quiet time; I would like to briefly share some of them with you.

Keys to Quiet Time:

?Find a special place to have it.
?Bring your Bible, pen, paper and an open mind.
?Set aside a specific time each day.
?Be prepared to hear from God.
