Show #2 ~ Finding Mr. Right, Instead of Settling for Mr. Right Now ~ July 17, 2007

This week I cover the topic of “Finding Mr. Right, Instead of Settling for Mr. Right Now. I know as a teen I struggled with always wanting a boyfriend, or someone to go out with. These guys weren’t always the “right” person for me. I dated often just to have a date rather than because we were compatible or because he was someone I would truly consider as a “potential mate”. I encourage you in this week’s show to help your daughter with this tough topic. I give some tips and ideas from my own experience.

    1. Such a good topic and I’m glad you are speaking on it! Girls really need to know that! Personally I never did the “dating thing” and I only had two boyfriends and the second one became my husband. I had a list for what I wanted and I think it saved me lots of heartache, but yet I still struggled with falling for lots of guys in my mind and that was harmful. Keep up the good work,Alyssa!!! :)

    2. It’s funny how this topic speaks totally to my heart! God promised me a husband way back in 2001 shortly after I became a Christian (that’s been the biggest desire of my heart - to be a wife and a mom) but I still try to take matters into my hands because I think that it should of happened by now!

It’s really hard waiting and being picky and patient when you’ve wanted something for so long but I’ve come to realize that all the Mr. Right Now’s that I’ve been with have only cause more heartache and grief than anything!

It’s such a great topic and such an important one. Girls (not just girls but women too) need to know that they deserve so much more than Mr. Right Now and that waiting on God to bring Mr. Right is only going to be 100 times better than anything Mr. Right Now could bring them!
