Note from Alyssa
Hello Everyone!
As usual, life is busy. How can life not be busy for the mother of a 3 year old and an almost 3 month old? If anyone out there knows how to make things less hectic around my house please email me your tips! J
Even though we are busy, we’re also blessed. This week, I have spent much time with friends, my husband and kids and enjoyed myself thoroughly. My husband, Greg, has been umpiring ballgames at the local recreation park and the kids and I have been going out to watch two of my best friends little boys play tee ball. My son Baker has enjoyed playing with his friends and watching the ballgames. More than that, he enjoys the concession stand. He was lucky too that his Granny provided some pocket change for him to feed his wishes.
I hope every one of you is enjoying this time in your life. We should all be grateful for every moment that God gives to us.

Giving God the Glory

How many times a day does God bless us? If we really stopped to think about it, the number is probably unfathomable. Yesterday God sent several large blessings into my life. I was so excited and so hyped up by what the blessings meant for me that I failed to stop and thank Him for them. Last night after going to bed I could not sleep, I tossed and turned, I got too hot and felt sick at my stomach. I even got leg cramps. Everything was keeping me awake.

The thought had crossed my mind just before bed; “You have not done your journaling, quiet time and Bible study today”. However, I felt that I was tired, it was late and I could wait until this morning. God disagreed, I believe, because He literally kept me up most of the night. I probably would have been better off to get up and do those things and went back to bed. However, I did not; so I suffered. Maybe you agree with me. Maybe you do not. Nevertheless, I believe God can do this. He can do anything He wants. Why would He not want to wake me up, encourage me, remind me that it was He that gave me those blessings yesterday.

God blesses us everyday using even the smallest of things. The warm water coming from our showers in the morning, the glow of the moonlight on our children’s faces as we tuck them in at night, the feeling that you get when you see someone you love coming up the driveway from work. All these things are blessings that God chooses to allow us to have, rather than taking away. He could have easily taken those things away He gave me yesterday. Instead of allowing them to remain a part of my life, however, He did not.

You can bet that this morning one of my first tasks was to praise Him, thank Him and give Him the glory for what He has done in my life, both yesterday, today and everyday. Moreover, I know He will continue because He is faithful.

Are you giving God the glory for His blessings in your life? I am looking forward to those blessings with eagerness, because I have seen God shower them into my life so many times before. How about you, are you prepared for the rain?

Mom Daughter Connection Radio Show will launch Tuesday, July 3 and Christian Girl Talk Radio Show will launch, Tuesday, August 7. Each of these shows will run bi-weekly, or every other week. Once both are started, we will have one, one week and one the next. I hope everyone will look forward to tuning in.
Mom Daughter Connection’s first show will be a testimony of how Alyssa decided to created her ministry and of God’s calling on her life. You the listeners will be able to get to know Alyssa a little better before you listen to her tips and advice on the topics near and dear to you and your daughter.
